Souther Electric Flight Festival....in the SOUTH! :D

well, Bobbye gave a brief overview of my trip, so I thought id go into more detail...some of you may or may not know of my hobby...R/C models... :) Well, im kinda..."sponsored" by a company called "little screamers" they make small electric brushless motors. anyhow, they sent me on this trip back to Georgia, to a event called SEFF. Its basically the "Oshkosh" of the electric R/C world. over 500 pilots, and in the range og 2000-2500 models, with people showing up from all over the place! had a couple guys show up from Austria! for some reason, i wanted to go up to them, and start singing some songs from the sound of music! :p They were cool guys, and very intersted in the Jet I brought, a F-16. My F-16 started life as a kit, and ended up something FAR beyond what it was ever intended to do....stock she goes about 75..maybe 80mph. well...mine goes in the range of 155mph, to 165, depending on the pass. it weighs about 3 lbs(which is a TON for something this small) and she'll go straight up all day! :) anyhow, its a great bird. the fastest thing ive had yet. :) anyhow...back to SEFF...ive never been "back east"...i must say..its very very pretty! EVERYTHNG is GREEEEEEN. trees EVERYWHERE...if theres not trees...its probably because theres a house, or a road...and thats about it! both trips in the airliner were long! :O we were packed in like sardines...somehow i find it hard to believe that the airlines are "going under"...anyhow, we stayed in a small town, about 5 mi from the event, called "Americus". now thats original! infact, its located in Macon county...where the "dukes of hazzard" was filmed back in the 70's/80's...!! also, many civil war battles were faught in that region, which is also pretty cool. the town was small, and filled with OLD houses, and buildings that had been restored. i wish i had taken some photo's. its funny, back there....every town has atleast 3 things.... a Mc Donalds...a Wal Mart.....and a KFC.....and as far as music goes..theres country....and hip hop! :p I went on this trip with my buddy Bob. it was alot of fun, and we had a great time meeting new people, seeing new sights, and in general, just having some good, clean fun :) We also met up with some old friends, and that was cool too. I got to fly a bunch of other peoples models, as this seems to happen alot at events...i guess people jsut think im a super cool dude! :p we did however get into a pretty nasty car wreck in the rental, which was a chevy HHR...dont get me started on that thing! :O i will say, she took a lick'in and kept on tickin! we were T-boned by a Ford Van...we never say hime coming. it was crazy! glass was flying everwhere, had to empty my shoes of the glass! this was only the second accident of my life, the first beeing when i wrapped my turbo coupe around a tree in provo...this one sounded the same on the inside. luckily, we were ok, just a little sore. you should have see the reaction of the people at the rental car center when i pulled into the lot in A-town! :O :p while on the schene of the accident....i heard in the distance a GOOD sounding mustang.."going" through the gears...it was obvious it wasnt grandma driving...i said to the sheriff..."dang...hes rippin on that thing!" about 1 minute later...here she comes...a dark blue 03 GT...sweet...the sheriff turns to us and says...in a southern accent " you know the worst part about that was?...that was my SON" he had his cell phone out "right quick" he gave that boy a ear full...must have been his car...he wont be driving that one for a while...somehow...i know that boy's pain..dont ask how i know.... ;) anywho, it was a great trip, and i couldnt wait to get home to Bobbye and the little rascal! I also couldnt wait to get back to CA....love that cooool breeze. GA was hotter than a black leather seat on a hot summer day! :p it was a great trip though! To top it off...i didnt crash anything! sweet! and i won a battery pack in a raffle that is worth over 500$ :O thats what im talking about! heres a list of all the models i flew over the event...F-16, F-105, F-4, F-5, F9F, A-1, F7F, Mig 15, Mig 21, L-39, Mig 29, A-4, F4D, F-20. and to top it all off...we started and ended the trip with In-N- Out :) A Big Thank you goes to Bobbye for supporting me in my Hobby. a Hobby which hopefully will sonn payoff pretty big if i get a promotion into Northrop Gumman's "model shop" where they make Large models of top secret airplanes for wind tunnel and radar testing :) anyways, it was a great trip, and i had a GREAT time, but it was even better to get back home to my family! and that little hoser's cute smile! :p

Nice post Bro! You should post more often. Cool trip report and we'll pray that you'll get that model shop job. You'd be killer and take your skeelz to the next level.
Happy Mother's Day Bobye!!!

I've never been to Georgia, but I got to go to New York once. I made the mistake of buying ice cream. I've never seen anything melt so fast.
